THS Recommends: AncestralMedicine.com

I love to share things that I’ve found that go along with my study of Druidry, and the work of Dr. Daniel Foor, especially his Ancestral Lineage Healing Online Course  and his book have been an amazing part of my journey and really valuable personal work! For a little more on my work with this course, see my post here.

THS Recommends: The Druid’s Garden

When I started OBOD I thought, gee, someone needs to create a blog about the intersection of Permaculture and Druidry. I didn’t have to-there already is a FABULOUS blog called The Druid’s Garden. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Permaculture, Druidry and connecting with Nature.

THS Recommends: Stephen Harrod-Buhner’s Free Online Course

This course, called “The Living Touch of Wild Earth”  from Schumacher College in England, will challenge your perceptions, in a good way.
Buhner, author of The Lost Language of Plants, Plant Intelligence, and many other books, has a very unique way of helping people to see from a more Earth-centered place….

THS Recommends: “Do Less” by Abeja Herbs

I deeply urge you all to stop and read this. SO MUCH THIS!!

I realized just how a dangerous a thing it is to ignore beauty in the name of efficiency; to prioritize productivity and perfection over pleasure and play.  My heart ached for the countless times I had denied myself what I wanted and needed most – whether it was nourishment, rest, connection, or exploration. I implore you to remain vigilant for this tendency in your own life, for it is this insidious thing which gives rise to a world where fascism is possible and those things which are sacred become commodities rather than forces with which we are in relationship.

Interview with Emma Restall Orr

Love this interview with Emma Restall Orr on Skeptiko!
As a druid she thinks in broader terms than one group or another…highly recommend this!

THS Recommends: Druidry & Politics

It’s hard not to think about Politics in the wake of Tuesday’s election (godz help us all) and so, while I am busy reworking my Bardic Review, I offer you this wonderful piece from Philip Carr-Gomm head of the Order of Bards Ovates and Druids.

THS Recommends: Mountain Man Healing

The writings of herbalist and traditional Ozark Mountain “Yarb Doctor” Brandon Weston of Mountain Man Healing are deeply steeped in the traditions of the Ozarks. It’s a wonderful thing that he is writing these down, and making them fresh for a new generation of people from the Ozarks and the wider culture of America.
As American Druids, sometimes we have a hard time wrapping our heads around how we are the same as and how we differ from traditional Welsh and UK Druids. Things are different in the US.
